Consumer information

For purposes of the Information Security Standards, “consumer information” means any record about an individual, whether in paper, electronic, or other form, that is a consumer report or is derived from a consumer report that is maintained by or on behalf of a financial institution for a business purpose, such as information that an institution obtains about a loan applicant or a prospective employee from a consumer report.
